The Wildlife Heritage Center Museum is a
3100 SF log cabin facility located between two
existing Whitetail and Fallow deer exhibits in
Antlers, OK. The facility is utilized as a
regional tourism attraction while at the same
time serving as a wildlife and nature
resources conservation, public education
learning center. Hours are Monday through
Saturday 9AM to 5PM (closed holidays).
Admission is free!
The Wildlife Heritage Center Museum is a
project that developed from the Deer Capital
Tourism Association, a 501 (C) (3)
organization, in the spring of 2001. An
in-depth marketing plan was conducted by
Devlin and Associates in 1998 entitled "The
Making the th Deer Capital of the World". The
local tourism association, utilizing the
marketing plan, adopted the project and
started the task of planning, design and fund
raising for the museum.
The facility is located on the City of Antlers
property adjacent to "Little Peoples Park" in
Antlers, Oklahoma. Two 7000 SF deer
exhibits enclosures were constructed in
October 2002.
The building dedication was held October 6,
2006.
